Mr. Konstantinos Avgikos is a Specialist Ophthalmic Surgeon registered with the General Medical Council in the UK and a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
He graduated from Ioannina Medical School. He trained in ophthalmology at Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens, where he gained a lot of experience in anterior segment surgery and transcanallicular dacryocystorhinostomy.
After finishing his residency, he took a clinical attachment position in the Vitreoretinal Department of Hellenic Red Cross Hospital.
His special interest on refractive surgery and corneal collagen cross-linking with Riboflavin led him to Emmetropia in April 2008.
He has actively participated in numerous presentations in Greek and international conferences and has translated chapters of well known ophthalmology textbooks in Greek.
For the last two years he is a scientific associate of MD, a bi-monthly Science and Lifestyle magazine while his concern about road safety led him to write a series of articles for the public in automotive magazines. He has also worked in the most popular Greek Internet portal (in.gr) as an author of medical articles for the public and as a reviewer of health-related articles.
He is a PhD candidate in the University of Athens.
