Sara Padroni MD, MRCOphth, MRCS, MSc

Dr Sara Padroni was born in Cagliari and underwent her medical studies in Rome, where she graduated in 1996.
She worked in the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2010 at Dundee University, Edinburgh and London (St. Thomas'  Hospital). She also has a Cataract Fellowship from Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
Her main areas of interest are cornea ultrastructure and refractive cornea and lens surgery.
During her years in the UK, she has done basic research in cornea refractive surgery, and clinical research in surgical methodologies to remove cataracts and their effect on the cornea endothelium.
Dr Sara Padroni has published in peer reviewed journals and has presented posters and oral free papers during British, European and International symposia.
She is a member of the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology and a current member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and of the General Medical Council.
Outside of work, Sara is interested in Modern Art, Italian Opera and Sailing.
